XLV "A. Corbella" International Summer School on Organic Synthesis - ISOS 2021
The XLV edition of the “Attilio Corbella” International Summer School on Organic Synthesis (ISOS 2021) will be held in VIRTUAL FORM from 14th to 17th June 2021.
The School will start on Monday morning (09:00) and will end on Thursday afternoon.
The “A. Corbella” School on Organic Synthesis has a long tradition, which dates back to 1976. Named after its cofounder Attilio Corbella, who died prematurely in 1978, the School is sponsored by the Division of Organic Chemistry of Società Chimica Italiana (SCI) and organized under the direction of the Department of Chemistry of the Università degli Studi di Milano, every year in June in Gargnano, a small village on Garda Lake.
Since its foundation, the School has been held in “Palazzo Feltrinelli”, a XIX century villa overlooking the lake which is property of the Università degli Studi di Milano and is equipped with teaching facilities for up to 150 participants.
Given the persistency of COVID-19 pandemic, ISOS 2021 will be held in VIRTUAL FORM.
The School is mainly directed to Ph.D. students and young researchers coming both from University and Industry. It normally attracts close to 100 students, including the best graduate students from all the main Italian and European Universities.
The lectures span all aspects of modern synthetic Organic Chemistry and focus on research topics at the cutting-edge of organic chemistry and related areas, such as analytical chemistry, materials, innovative enabling technologies.
The scientific PROGRAMME of ISOS 2021 will consist of lectures delivered by acclaimed scientists from academia and industry, poster sessions, short oral communications and problem session throughout the four-day schedule. Aim of the school is to create a friendly environment and provide the opportunity to young scientists, post-docs and PhD students to meet leading scientists of high international reputation in a very relaxed and informal atmosphere.
